These screws are produced with a gimlet point for use when clearance holes and pilot holes are not in line. This Extrude-Tite® has less Trilobular™ shape in the body of the screw. Typically, both of these screws are used in applications that require extremely rapid hole finding, when pilot holes are often out of alignment, or when a sheet of material must be pierced, such as a gasket.
